Anastasia Sargent is an interdisciplinary artist who grew up on unceded Wampanoag territory in Aquinnah, MA. She received her BFA from Art Center College of Design (Pasadena, CA) in 2018 where she graduated as class valedictorian. She is currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Visual Art at Cornell University’s School of Art Architecture and Planning.

Informed by personal, mythological, and historical narratives, my research based practice addresses themes of belief, extraction, patriarchy, addiction, and class. My work is guided by analytic inquiry and intuition. My current projects are devoted to creating chain reactions that seek to demonstrate interdependencies, and embrace failure and collapse. Through sculpture, assemblage, ceramics, and installation, I seek to make vicious cycles and divergent time scales visible.
